CCA opens office in Veendam
On 1 January 2010, Container Company Amsterdam (CCA), part of the Ter Haak Group, will open an office in Veendam, in the northern Dutch province of Groningen. Due to the office’s location on the terrain of the Groningen Railport, CCA aims to strengthen its position in Holland and have even better access to the northern European market. CCA’s new office also represents a considerable expansion for the activities of Groningen Seaport and InterModal Solutions (IMS) and the versatility of the entire Groningen Railport terminal.
Accessible by rail, road and water, Groningen Railport is a tri-modal terminal that processes both containers and conventional cargo. The Ter Haak Group has almost 100 years of experience in intermodal cargo transport and the exploitation of a multimodal terminal. Its container service point in the Amerikahaven (American harbour) area of Amsterdam inspects, cleans and repairs incoming and outgoing containers prior to transportation. This has offered significant added value to shipping, receiving and forwarding companies in Amsterdam and by equipping the Veendam terminal with a similar facility CCA aims do the same in Groningen.
CCA is specialised in the sale and rental of new and used sea containers, reefers, cabins and offshore containers, available in standard lengths of two, three, six and twelve metres and various heights such as 2.4, 2.6 and 2.9 metres. Highly professional personnel in CCA’s workshop ensure that containers are delivered in perfect condition, customising the layout and equipment to the client’s wishes. With a focus on the construction, agricultural and oil & gas industries as well as private parties, CCA will use its complete range of containers to serve the north of the Netherlands as well as the German market from its new office on Spoorhavenweg in Veendam.
